There are many different projects an EcoPublican could pursue.

EcoDrinker can also introduce interested breweries to a number of different consultants who can advise on maximizing the savings opportunities. For Brewpubs:
• Install sub-metering around critical process control points based on mass balance data
• Lighting upgrade to LED
• Replace existing appliances with energy star appliances (dishwashers, coolers, compressors, etc…)
• HVAC upgrades
• Insulation, weather stripping, window tinting, etc…
• Walk in cooler upgrades (plastic curtains, quick closing doors, compressor upgrades, etc…)
• Burner/natural gas equipment upgrades
• Pump replacements
• Rooftop A/C covers/tents
• Installing solar panels to pre-heat liquor tank

For Breweries:

Breweries can also participate in comprehensive energy retrofits called Energy Savings Performance Contracting (ESPC). These are financing instruments where the property owner repays the cost of the project from realized savings rather than with out-of- pocket costs. The projects include comprehensive energy audits and retrofits performed by the local utility company, Energy Services Company (ESCO), or other certified provider. ESPCs can reduce energy costs anywhere between 15 and 50%.
For all project types, EcoDrinkers are providing an unsecured loan that will cover all costs associated with a project, including EcoDrinker.com fees. EcoDrinker.com will coordinate with contractors and EcoPublicans regarding project and loan payments.
A few notes:
- To be eligible, a single project, or bundle of smaller projects must show identifiable and measurable environmental benefits that help reduce the participants carbon footprint and cost between $65,000 and $925,000
- The EcoPublican does not receive any cash directly; rather EcoDrinker.com manages the payments to the contractors, ESCOs, utility companies, or other entities that are doing the work. Invoices are submitted to EcoDrinker under the terms of the agreements, and paid from the Escrowed funds
- The loan agreement between EcoDrinker.com and the EcoPublican will provide for a fixed repayment schedule based on realized savings. Loan payments are made to EcoDrinker, and are distributed to the crowd’s accounts. Participants agree to provide monthly utility usage data to EcoDrinker for the life of the project to track the environmental benefits
